Layla Housing

74 Villas that can adapt to the massively different plot shapes and conditions by building each module from two separate wings that are positioned differently on each site to maximize sea views and align to the different plot shapes. The two wings are then connected by a flexible element to turn them into one villa. Each villa also had to adapt to its site’s unique micro climate and orientation. Therefore, we’ve developed three approaches to offer the required adaptability as a system within the module’s form and cladding design. The Ayla development is a distinctive recreational and residential community, its scale and level of amenities and services is unprecedented in Jordan. The Ayla Villas are a significant part of the development, strategically positioned on prime man made ‘peninsula islands’ at the main breakwater entrance (adjacent to the royal palaces) with breath-taking views onto the Red sea and the marina lagoon. With exceptionally limited seafront land availability in Aqaba, this is a unique opportunity to create something special and outstanding for the lucky future villa owners.

Al Nadwa Palace
2,500 m2 jordan 2006
The Arabic for Nadwa means "the assembly expanse". Nadwa was the private home of His Royal Highness Prince Nayef Bin Abdullah. In 1980, it was renovated to become the home of Their Majesties King Hussein and Queen Noor, and remained so until their move to Bab As-Salaam. Nadwa is today a guest palace. It is located in the Royal Court compound in central Amman.
